The teaser trailer of "Edjop The Movie" starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Elijah Canlas, and Cedrick Juan was recently dropped.

The film is dedicated to Edgar "Edjop" Jopson, a well-known youth-student leader during the administration of late former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

The 44-second teaser trailer centers on Jodi, who seems to be emotional as she listens to APO Hiking Society's "Panalangin" on the stereo while driving her car.

Jodi's background then shows video footages of Filipinos conducting a demonstration seemingly against Marcos Sr.'s administration.

Elijah, who portrays Edjop, then appears in the background. He fiercely runs while the voice of the former president proclaiming martial law is being played.

"EDJOP The Movie" is a production of Open Water Productions and Origin8media.

The official date of the film's release has not yet been disclosed.

Edjop's name is said to be engraved in the Bantayog ng mga Bayani, which honors the martyrs and heroes of Martial Law, in Quezon City.

According to the Martial Law Museum's article, the youth-student leader had a chance to talk to Marcos Sr. in Malacañang Palace wherein he demanded the latter to promise that he would not seek a third term as president.

"This enraged Marcos, who refused the demands of a mere “grocer’s son," the Martial Law Museum said.

Edjop was reportedly captured during a military raid in September 1982, and later died after he was shot.

Prior to the movie, the life and struggle of Edjop were narrated in a documentary produced by the Edgar Jopson Foundation and Alternative Horizons in 1986.

The "Edjop" documentary won the first prize in the 1987 Cultural Center of the Philippines Film and Video Festival.
