Tito and Vic Sotto, Joey De Leon, and the rest of the original Dabarkads of the noontime show "Eat Bulaga" have found their new home with TV5 as they officially signed an agreement with Mediaquest Holdings Inc.
In a press release on Wednesday, Mediaquest Holdings Inc. confirmed that they have entered an agreement with the trio and their fellow hosts to produce content for TV5 and other platforms.
It added the deal “opens yet another chapter in the long-running, celebrated entertainment careers” of the TVJ.
"I’m honored that these pillars of the Philippine entertainment industry have agreed to work with us. Our partnership strengthens our ability to continue to deliver the best for Filipino viewers here at home and all over the world. I’m happy that Tito, Vic, and Joey will now call TV5 their home," Mediaquest president and CEO Jane Basas said.
Tito Sotto, meanwhile, thanked Mediaquest for “this fresh start.”
“We are thankful to our friends at Mediaquest for this fresh start. Dahil sa ating mga Dabarkads na naging Kapatid, tuloy pa rin ang tuwa’t saya na aming dala,” he said in the statement.
Further details about TVJ’s new show are yet to be revealed as of this writing.
This comes almost a week since the trio announced their departure from TAPE, Inc., the producers of "Eat Bulaga" and a GMA-7 block timer.
Other hosts quickly followed suit, including Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Wally Bayola, Ryan Agoncillo, and Allan K.
Following this, a new set of hosts for "Eat Bulaga!" were introduced on Monday, namely Cassy and Mavy Legaspi, Buboy Villar, Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, and Alexa Miro.
