

Filipino tennis star Alex Eala won her first doubles title as a pro over the weekends.
The 18-year old Filipino and her Latvian partner Darja Semenistaja snagged the women's doubles title of the W50 tournament in Pune, India after they defeated the pair of Naiktha Bains of Great Britain and Fanny Stollar of Hungary, 7-6(8), 6-3 in the finals held on Saturday, January 27.
Eala and Semenistaja secured a spot in the final match after defeating the Japanese duo of Saki Imamura and Naho Sato, 7(7) - 6(5), 6-3, in the semifinals.
Aside from Eala, Filipino tennis player Niño Alcantara also brought glory for the Philippines during the weekends.
Alcantara alongside his partner Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia, won the men's doubles title of the M25 tournament in Chennai, India.
The duo bested Bogdan Bobrov of Russia and Adil Kalyanpur of India, 6-4, 6-2, in the championship match held also last Saturday.
