DZRH, the flagship station of Manila Broadcasting Company, received big recognition at the 45th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) held in Manila on Thursday, Nov. 23.

The radio station’s Sunday program, DZRH Stories: Pinoy Documentaries, won the Best News Feature award for the documentary “Silang mga nagdidildil ng asin”.

The documentary centers on the issue of salt importation in the Philippines.

“Sabi ng mga eksperto sa industriya, siyamnapu't tatlong porsyento ng pangangailangan ng Pilipinas sa asin ang inaasa natin sa importasyon, 7-porsyento ang natira sa lokal na produksyon. Paano nga ba tayo humantong sa sitwasyong ito, samantalang isa ang bansa sa may pinakamahabang baybayin sa buong mundo?” an excerpt of the “Silang mga nagdidildil ng asin” documentary stated.

The DZRH Stories: Pinoy Documentaries’ hosts Edniel Parrosa and Jecelle Ricafort personally received the trophy.
