The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has officially upheld the cancellation of the registration of the Duterte Youth party-list.
In a resolution released Friday, August 29, the en banc voted 5-1-1 to deny the party-list’s motion for reconsideration.
“WHEREFORE, premises considered, the Commission (En Banc) RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES to DENY the Motion for Reconsideration. The Assailed Resolution is hereby AFFIRMED,” the 10-page resolution read.

The Comelec Second Division previously granted a 2019 petition filed by youth leaders seeking to void Duterte Youth’s registration. Petitioners argued that the group’s accreditation was invalid due to the absence of the required publication and hearing.
With the en banc ruling, the Duterte Youth remains barred from being recognized as a party-list group.
