The Minor Basilica and Parish of San Sebastian has released the complete schedule for Dungáw 2026, the sacred encounter of Quiapo’s two miraculous patrons, set on January 9, in line with the annual Feast of the Jesus Nazarene.

The Dungaw marks the solemn meeting of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno and Nuestra Señora del Carmen de San Sebastián, a long-standing religious tradition symbolizing unity, faith, and shared devotion between Quiapo Church and the San Sebastian Basilica.

Activities will begin on January 8, with the ceremonial descent of the image of Nuestra Señora del Carmen from the main retablo, followed by a procession to the Camarin after the 6:00 p.m. Mass. On January 9, the Day of Dungáw, morning Masses will be held at 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., with no evening Mass scheduled, as the basilica’s doors will be closed after the 7:00 a.m. liturgy.

The basilica will reopen on January 10, with regular Masses scheduled at 6:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m., and 6:00 p.m. Church officials expect large crowds of devotees and reminded the public to observe safety and church guidelines during one of the most anticipated highlights of the Nazareno festivities.
