

Dumaguete City has been ranked the safest city in the Philippines for April 2026, according to the World Travel Index (WTI). The city scored 82.28, followed by Davao City with a score of 79.22.
“This ranking shows which cities offer the best conditions for safety during travel,” the WTI said in a statement.
The top 10 safest cities in the Philippines this month are: Dumaguete, Davao City, Balanga, Bulacan, Baguio, Puerto Princesa, Lucena, Naga, Makati City, and Las Piñas. Scores ranged from 82.28 in Dumaguete to 70.03 in Las Piñas.
Meanwhile, Manila, the nation’s capital, was ranked last among surveyed cities, placing 33rd with a score of 35.88.
The WTI ranking assesses cities based on factors such as crime rates, traffic safety, and general traveler security, providing a guide for domestic and international tourists seeking safe destinations.
