The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is leading a digital transformation, enabling social protection service providers to utilize advanced digital public infrastructure (DPI) technologies.&nbsp;
In a statement, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said the agency is going through a substantial overhaul of its information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, processes, and workforce, aiming to enhance services for beneficiaries and partners.&nbsp;
DSWD recognizes that technology is critical in providing timely, efficient, and quality services to beneficiaries, and the agency is committed to leveraging it to improve its programs and services.&nbsp;
&ldquo;We are excited about the future of the DSWD and the impact that our digital transformation initiative will have on the lives of our beneficiaries,&rdquo; Secretary Gatchalian said.
The Department is also adopting the best practices from leading technology companies to create user-centered solutions and to build a world-class digital experience for its beneficiaries, social workers, and employees.&nbsp;
DSWD is investing heavily in ICT infrastructure, such as digital platforms for programs and services, and providing training and development programs to enhance its workforce's skills and capabilities.&nbsp;
Secretary Gatchalian stressed that the department is infusing a culture of innovation and agility in its ICT Management Service (ICTMS) to achieve its goals and that the digital transformation initiative would soon produce positive results, streamlining processes, reducing red tape, and improving service delivery to beneficiaries.&nbsp;
Moreover, DSWD has launched a new branding strategy to align its ICTMS Management Service with its mission and vision, welcoming software developers and technology professionals to join them on their journey towards a better and more digital government agency.
