The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) targets to start the rollout of the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) before the end of May.
"Dahil na-publish na yung guidelines, this month rin ay ma-announce yung rollout venues natin," DSWD Sec. Rex Gatchalian said on Tuesday, May 14, during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.
Under the guidelines for AKAP, qualified beneficiaries must belong to the low-income category or those whose income does not exceed the statutory minimum wage.
Gatchalian stressed that beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) could not apply for AKAP.
To avail of assistance from AKAP, applicants must present a government-issued ID, and proof of their income, like a certificate of employment, income tax return, or a payslip.
Gatchalian said that the amount of assistance that a qualified beneficiary can receive will depend on the assessment of DSWD.
