Norman Laurio, Bicol Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), has visited evacuation centers in Camalig and Guinobatan municipalities.

This is to ensure the well-being and provision of essential supplies for evacuees affected by the unrest of Mayon Volcano.

During the inspections, Director Laurio assessed the facilities available at the evacuation centers, including kitchens, restrooms, and sleeping quarters, to ensure they meet the needs of the evacuees.

To ensure a coordinated and organized management of the evacuation centers, Director Laurio instructed all members of the Field Office's disaster teams to maintain close communication and coordination with local government units.

As the Vice-Chair for Disaster Response in the region, DSWD Field Office V, Director Laurio also had discussions with the Office of Civil Defense to determine further steps in response to the increased volcanic activity of Mayon.
