A high-value drug suspect was arrested at a Philippine National Police checkpoint on Friday afternoon in Barangay San Vicente, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.
In a report by RH Grace Sansano, Gapan City Police chief Lt. Col. Joel Dela Cruz identified the suspect as alias "Waway," a 43 years old resident of the same barangay.
The suspect attempted to evade the authorities but was quickly apprehended by the police at the checkpoint.
Confiscated from the suspect were approximately 250 grams of suspected shabu worth an estimated P1.7 million, along with a .45 caliber firearm, a magazine, and five live rounds.
Alias "Waway" is now facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and violations of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
