The local government unit (LGU) of Antipolo City has announced that motorists should expect year-long heavy traffic along Marcos Highway, starting on Monday, August 21.

In a travel advisory, Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares said this is due to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) construction of Phase 4 of the flood control project in the Masinag area.

"Layunin ng proyektong ito na maibsan ang pagbaha sa bahaging ito ng lower Antipolo at mga kalapit na bayan," she said.

Ynares said the construction is expected to run until July 23, 2024.
