DOTr warns traffic slowdown on May 10-12 amid ongoing Metro Manila Subway Project

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has warned the public of possible slow movement of traffic along the affected roads of the ongoing Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).

In an advisory, the DOTr announced that a transfer of tunnel boring machines will be undertaken for the MMSP and will affect traffic flow from May 10 to May 12.

The traffic slowdown will occur on May 10–11 at 10 p.m.–4 a.m. and May 11–12 at 10 p.m.–4 a.m.

Affected roads are the following:

  • Port/R-10 (between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.)
  • C3 Road (between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.)
  • 5th Avenue (between 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.)
  • G. Araneta Avenue (between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.)
  • E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue (between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m.)
  • Gilmore Avenue (between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.)
  • Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue (between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.)

"Motorists are advised to take alternate routes. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding," the DOTr said.

According to DOTr, the subway project has the biggest scope of right-of-way (ROW) acquisitions of any government infrastructure project.

MMSP's full operation is targeted for 2029.
