The Department of Transportation warned the public on Saturday, October 21, against those who are pretending to be personnel of private emission testing centers (PETC) and private motor vehicle inspection centers (PMVIC).
In an advisory, DOTr said only the PETC-PMVIC Authorization Committee (AC) and sub-committees are authorized to process documents such as applications, renewals, authorizations, suspensions, and other documents regarding PETC and PMVC.
"Muling pinapaalalahanan ang punliko na maging mapanuri at mag-ingat sa mga mapanamantalang indibidwal o organisayon na naggpapakilala at nagpapanggap na konektado sa PETC-PMVC Authorization Committee," the transport agency said.
According to Department Order No. 2023-001 at 2023-008, aside from the members of the PETC-PMVIC Authorization Committee and sub-committees, no other individual is authorized to process and approve any document, application, or renewal of PETCs and PMVICs.
The PETC-PMVC Authorization Committee condemns individuals who are using names such as "Dir. Ferdinand" or "Kristoffer" and pretending to be members of the Authorization Agency.
The committee said pretenders will be facing administrative and criminal charges.
