The Department of Transportation (DOTr) told the public on Sunday to be wary of fraudsters pretending to be the agency’s secretary and staff when contacting civilians over messaging and social media platforms.

“Please be advised that the Secretary, along with all DOTr officials and personnel, will never conduct official transactions outside the agency’s recognized and authorized channels,” DOTr said in an advisory.

Messages from these individuals should not be entertained and instead reported to the agency, they instructed.
