The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) have suspended 15 GV Florida Transport buses for 30 days following a viral video showing six of its units allegedly racing along Diadi-Cordon Road between Nueva Vizcaya and Isabela.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon announced the suspension during a press conference at the DOTr office in San Juan City.
The suspended units operate routes from Sampaloc, Manila to Santa Ana, Cagayan, and from Baguio to Apayao.
In addition to suspending GV Florida’s units, the transport agency also suspended the licenses of the drivers involved in the viral incident, according to RH 5 reporter Val Gonzales.
(If you think the President was joking, the DOTr was joking when we said that all our countrymen must be safe on the roads, and whoever violates our regulations and compromises our countrymen’s safety—if you thought the President is not serious, the DOTr is not serious, you will find out now that you’re mistaken. And this is our message to all PUV companies: if you do this, you will be met with a heavy consequence.)

LTFRB Spokesperson Atty. Ariel Inton said in an earlier statement that, based on the viral video posted on Facebook by Carlo Carbonel, it appears as though the GV Florida buses had turned the road into a race track.
In the video, four buses are seen hurtling down the road, one after the other. The video uploader, Carbonel, claimed however that two more—making a total of six buses—were tailing those caught on camera.
The video, which was shared Monday night, racked up 8.1 million views as of Tuesday morning; it received scores of negative reactions from netizens.
In a statement, GV Florida Transport Inc. extended its apologies and said it is taking appropriate steps to resolve the issue.
“We sincerely apologize about the circulating issue regarding the fast forward footage posted by Carlo Carbonel,” it said. “The content does not align with our company’s values and standards. We are currently addressing the matter internally and we assure the public that the safety and well-being of our passengers is our top priority.”
