Transportation Assistant Secretary Atty. Hector Villacorta has been designated as officer-in-charge of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) following the resignation of Atty. Jose Arturo Tugade.
A turnover ceremony was held between Villacorta, who is currently DOTr's Assistant Secretary for Communications, and Tugade as seen in photos shared by the LTO to the media.
He once served as chief of staff of former Senate President Vicente Sotto III and administrator of the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO).

Tugade, whose resignation will take effect by Thursday, June 1, stepped down from the post due to differences in methods with DOTr.
J-Art is the son of former Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade and was appointed as LTO chief back in November 2022 due to his experience in management and litigation.
