Maynilad targets 7 PM- 4 AM ‘average’ water interruption
by Mary Antalan12 July 2023

Maynilad will only have an average duration of water interruption on Wednesday, July 12, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., according to Maynilad Corporate Communications Head Jennifer Rufo.

"On average po, ang duration is from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.. Meron lang pong ibang areas na aabot ng 6 a.m. kasi—imake into consideration po natin yung pressure build up," said Rufo in an interview with DZRH.

Rufo explained that delays occur due to the transmission of water supply from the start to end line, which sometimes could take two hours. However, she reassured them that they would shorten the duration of the interruption as soon as they could.

"Yun po ang ating target ito pong 7 a.m. to 4 a.m. po na ito ay worst scenario na," it said.

"The more water we are able to produce, mashoshorten po natin itong nakaschedule,’ she noted. Hindi kaagad 7 p.m. mararamdman kung kaya po nating late 8 or 9 p.m. gagawin po natin ‘yon," she added.

On the other hand, Maynilad reiterated the idea of comparing them to Manila Water by saying they have older pipelines inherited from the Lopezes, former owners of Maynilad.

"Magkaiba po kami ng sitwasyon ng kabilang concessionare una sa lahat ang conssion area ng Maynilad mas luma po an aming pipe line," the communications head said.

Rufo assured the public that Maynilad is continuously replacing old pipelines, finishing around 66 percent of the pipes given by the government.

"Hindi naman po pwedeng buingkalin lahat ng lupa sa maynila para palitan lahat ng pipe line," it said.
