Internet personality Donnalyn Bartolome snagged the Best Content Creator award at the 2025 Septimius Awards in Amsterdam on Saturday, and took the opportunity during her acceptance speech to spotlight the Philippines’ flood control crisis.

“I’m going to say something important. I just want to share to you that one of the most heartbreaking issues we face back home are the floods. And every year, communities are displaced and lives are lost, and it’s a cycle we’ve been stuck in for far too long,” she said.

The social media celebrity appealed for better governance, while urging people to themselves take action.

“I’ve always believed that prevention is better than cure and while we hope and continue to push for our government to do better with regards to our flood control systems, we’re also taking action into our own hands by planting trees and bamboo,” Bartolome shared.

She encouraged individuals to plant a tree as an act of love for our planet.

Bartolome earned her claim to fame as a vlogger. Also a singer, she has released singles like “Kakaibabe,” “‘Di Lahat,” and “Omo”—her top hits on Spotify.

Septimius Awards is an international award ceremony which recognizes feature films, documentaries, screenplays, and the like, and is based in Europe.
