Internet personality Donnalyn Bartolome apologized for the sexy baby-themed birthday photos she shared on social media which drew criticism from netizens.
Over the weekend, Donnalyn celebrated her 28th birthday with a photoshoot wherein she was seen depicting a baby in diapers, wearing a bib as her only top, and the actress-singer in a onesie while sucking suggestively from a milk bottle.
Netizens called out Bartolome and pointed out that said concept is "disturbing" and "enabling pedophilic culture."
Bartolome addressed the issue on Sunday and explained that it was an "honest mistake."
"It was never my intention to enable one of the most horrifying acts here on Earth," she wrote, adding that she was not able to take down the post right away because she needed to have the copyright first "to prevent the spread of it furthermore."
"Almost a million people across [social media] platforms thought of it light and funny because they know my personality and didn’t look at it that way, hence our initial reaction to the idea was the same," she continued.
"But upon reading other people’s perspectives, I completely agree. I feel terrible, sick to my stomach and had disturbing flashbacks I’d rather not say."
Bartolome ended her statement by expressing her gratitude to those who reached out to her regarding the issue, especially those who “did it so kindly,” and noted that they help her carry out her “responsibility of influencing millions.”
As of writing, Donnalyn’s Twitter account has 2.1 million followers, her Facebook account has 15 million followers, and her YouTube channel has 9.2 million subscribers.
