Filipina actress Dolly de Leon revealed she cried a few days after missing out on the 2023 Oscar Award nomination for her role in Palme d'Or 2022 winner "Triangle of Sadness," which could have been a historic moment for the country.
In an intimate discussion, de Leon recalled the moment that caused her to feel emotional about not being nominated.
According to her, she got sad and the initial reaction she made was to cry and felt bad for about two to three days, adding that she was not going to lie and pretend that she was fine at not being nominated for the Oscars.
De Leon then expressed her support for the nominated actresses and said that she has so much respect for each one of them.
She was being pegged to be nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the Oscars Award, however, the Academy nominated Angela Bassett for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," Hong Chau for "The Whale," Kerry Condon for "The Banshees of Inisherin," and "Everything Everywhere All At Once" co-stars Jaime Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu.
Meanwhile, de Leon was nominated at the 80th edition of the Golden Globe Awards where she lost to Angela Bassett who won the trophy for her portrayal of Queen Ramona in Marvel’s film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
