The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Thursday that it successfully distributed more than 60 million Philippine Identification (PhilID) cards as well as electronic PhilIDs nationwide as of April 21.
In a news release, PSA said of the 60 million, 29,119,471 were physically printed IDs while 30,738,330 were electronic IDs.
PSA Undersecretary Dennis Mapa regarded the development as an "impetus" for the agency to "continue working towards our goal of creating a Makabagong Pilipinas where services are more accessible to all Filipinos."
“Sinisiguro ng PSA na lahat ng nag-register sa PhilSys ay magkakaroon ng PhilID at ePhilID," he added.
According to the agency, its field offices nationwide are continuously working on the house-to-house and plaza-type distribution of PhilID cards and ePhilID as well as national ID registration.
Meanwhile, the PSA reminded all registered individuals to keep their transaction slip safe for this will be presented during the delivery of the physical PhilID.
The said slip will be likewise used for the claiming of ePhilID, the agency added.
“Registered persons who received an official text message from the PSA can also download a PDF copy of the ePhilID on their mobile devices,” PSA noted.
