The Department of Justice (DOJ) will file charges against the judge from Davao Regional Trial Court (RTC) who issued a Writ of Amparo in favor of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) during the execution of arrest warrant for religious leader Apollo Quiboloy in their compound.

During the DZRH Executive Session program on Saturday, Justice Secretary Boying Remulla stated that the Davao Court no longer holds jurisdiction over Quiboloy's cases.

Remulla explained that the judge's actions reflect a clear case of 'ignorance of the law,' noting that the Supreme Court had already mandated the transfer of the venue for the case proceedings.

"Ang problema natin dyan, ‘yung RTC nag issue ng Writ of Amparo. Pero co-equal court niya ‘yon. Hindi niya dapat ginagawa ‘yon," Remulla said.

"Tapos meron nang pending motion noong panahon na ‘yon na ginrant na ng Supreme Court later on, nai-transfer na ‘yung venue. Wala na dapat pakialam 'yan," he added.

In May 2024, the Supreme Court allowed the transfer of Quiboloy's case venue to avoid a miscarriage of justice, citing concerns about the alleged influence of the so-called 'Appointed Son of God'.

Meanwhile, Remulla asserted that the Marcos administration is simply upholding the rule of law in the issuance of the arrest warrant.

"We follow the law. Wala tayong ginagawa dito na hindi papasa sa legal standards natin and the courts are there to prove that we are doing the right thing," said Remulla.

Remulla then urged Quiboloy to appear and surrender, allowing the law enforcement process to proceed. He emphasized that law enforcement cannot be disrespected.
