The Department of Justice (DOJ) thanked the Court of Appeals (CA) after it issued a freeze order against Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy and several individuals and entities associated with him.
In a statement obtained by the DZRH News on Thursday, Justice Secretary Boying Remulla expressed his strong agreement with the freezing order.
"We hail the court's bold action in freezing the properties and restricting the financial muscle of fugitive Quiboloy who has been constantly mocking the justice system by evading arrest and our courts of law. This Order demonstrated the CA's firm resolve as a partner of the DOJ in upholding the rule of law," Remulla underscored.
"The freeze order is just one step which has somewhat provided hope for truth and justice," the Secretary added.
In a 48-page resolution, the appellate court ordered the freezing of 10 bank accounts, seven real properties, five motor vehicles, and one aircraft belonging to Quiboloy.
The freeze order also includes the bank accounts of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and the Swara Sug Media Corporation, the parent company of Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI), which serves as the media arm of KOJC.
The court's decision is rooted in suspicions that these accounts are connected to a range of unlawful activities, including human trafficking, sexual exploitation of children, fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering.
Currently, Quiboloy is facing two arrest warrants from the Quezon City and Pasig City courts.
