Department of Justice (DOJ) Assistant Secretary Jose Dominic 'Mico' Clavano IV said that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) needs to review its protocols and reinforce professionalism.
Clavano made the comment in response to the viral video of a “sexy dancer” during the NBI’s command conference held at Diamond hotel in Manila last June.
In a televised interview on Thursday, July 6, Clavano said that the NBI leadership should take the incident an opportunity to review their protocols and to reinforce professionalism.
He added that the the agency must ensure that such incidents don’t undermine the integrity and the good reputation of the organization as the premier investigating arm.
“The organizing committee may have lacked the awareness or sensitivity about the appropriate entertainment choices for a command conference,” Clavano said.
The DOJ official earlier said that Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin 'Boying' Remulla has ordered an investigation “to identify the responsible parties and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.”
“There’s really no justification or explanation to excuse the inclusion of such a performance,” he noted.
