The Department of Justice (DOJ) issued an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) on Tuesday, September 14, for former Department of Budget and Management Usec. Lloyd Christopher Lao and eight other individuals.
The ILBO also covers former presidential adviser Michael Yang, overall Deputy Ombudsman Warren Rex Liong, and Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation executives Twinkle Dargani, Huang Tzu Yen, Krizle Grace Mago, Justine Garado, Linconn Ong, and Mohit Dargani.
DOJ released the lookout order upon the request of the Senate, which has been conducting an inquiry on the alleged 'overpriced' personal protective equipment sets purchased by the national government from Pharmally.
DOJ Sec. Menardo Guevarra said that the Bureau of Immigration will make the proper arrangements to monitor the movements of the said individuals if they ever leave the Philippines.
"It should be noted, however, that an ILBO is for monitoring purposes only, and it is not, in and of itself, a sufficient prohibition for a subject’s departure from the Philippines," Guevarra clarified.
