The Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed on Wednesday, August 28, that criminals charges have been filed against Shiela Guo, the sister of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo; and Katherine Cassandra Li Ong.

Justice Sec. Jesus Crispin Remulla said that charges have been filed against the two at a court in Pasay City.

Shiela Guo faces charges for violating Article 150 of the Revised Penal Code for Disobedience to Summons issued by the Senate, and Republic Act No. 11983, also known as the New Philippine Passport Act, for using a false Philippine passport.

Meanwhile, Ong faces charges for disobedience to summons issued by the House of Representatives, as well as for obstruction of justice for harboring, concealing, or facilitating the escape of a criminal offender

Ong has been linked to a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) raided by the authorities last June in Porac, Pampanga,

Indonesian authorities apprehended Shiela Guo and Ong last August 21, and sent them back to the Philippines a day after.
