The Department of Justice (DOJ) seeks to resolve the charges lodged against Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) head pastor Apollo Quiboloy with efficiency and speed before his extradition to the United States.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla stressed that Quiboloy must be tried in his country.
“We will go through the process properly,” Remulla assured the press during an interview. “At siyempre ang priority natin, ang Philippine Justice system (And of course, our priority is the Philippine Justice system).”
“Kaya nga ang aking magiging instructions sa prosecution: prepare all the evidence so we can ask for continuous trial. Para matapos kaagad ‘yung kaso na kailangan litisin,” he said.
(That’s why my instructions to the prosecution will be to prepare all the evidence, so we can ask for a continuous trial. So the case he has to be tried for will be resolved expeditiously.)
The justice department also urges the Supreme Court to bar dilatory tactics, which aim to delay legal proceedings.
Quiboloy is among the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Most Wanted for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, and sex trafficking of children; sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion; conspiracy; and bulk cash smuggling.
