September 26 this year marks the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) 127th year of service “upholding the rule of law, accountability, fairness and truth.” A week of festivity is set in commemoration of the milestone.

“This anniversary is evidence to the DOJ's 127 years of unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of justice without fear, falter nor favor,” Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla said.

“May this landmark in upholding the Rule of Law serve as a constant reminder to all that the pursuit of justice is an endless journey which requires the collective efforts of us all,” he added.

From the 23rd, on Monday, to the 27th, Friday, the DOJ will be hosting a variety of programs and activities, and offering its employees aid.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Drum and Bugle Band set the celebratory tone for the opening ceremonies, followed by a Bagong Pilipinas Hymn Interpretative Dance Contest, and a welfare seminar for DOJ’s senior citizen employees.

For the entire week, there will be a Food and Merchandise Trade Fair. Employees can also participate in bowling, basketball, chess, darts, and e-game Mobile Legends for the department’s Sports Fest.

Employees and their families will be able to avail of numerous government frontline services courtesy of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), PhilHealth, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and Pag-IBIG via a caravan from September 24 to 25.

On the 26th, a Thanksgiving mass will be held, and Loyalty Awardees’ and retirees’ long years in dedicated service will be recognized in an Honorary Lunch.

On the same day, a photo of the country’s first Secretary of Justice, Severino Delas Alas, will be unveiled, and present secretary Remulla will be delivering a speech.

At the last day, a blood-letting activity will be held by the Witness Protection, Security and Benefit Program (WPSBP) in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross.
