The Department of Health (DOH) reported that a total of 691 individuals have suffered adverse reactions due to volcanic smog or vog, particularly in areas near Taal Volcano and Metro Manila.
Based on the DOH data on September 25, a total of 76 cases were recorded in the town of Agoncillo, 18 in Alitagtag, and 208 in Balete, Batangas Province.
Two were admitted to the hospital in Lian, while one patient was recorded in Tuy.
In the air quality monitoring in Metro Manila and Batangas, the assessment as of September 25 is now categorized as “fair” and "good,” respectively.
Meanwhile, the DOH has provided both logistical and medical assistance in the affected areas, alongside its counterparts, the Centers for Health Development in Calabarzon and Mimaropa.
It also assured the dissemination of an alert memorandum as well as a health advisory to the affected residents.
