The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, Dec. 1, 2024, logged 116 new fireworks-related injuries, totaling 231 injuries nationwide.

According to the health agency, the youngest case was an 11 month old while the oldest being 76 years old.

DOH stated that 93 percent of the injuries happened while the individuals were at their respective residences and 52 percent was done using legal fireworks.

The health agency also added that at its peak, this year had the lowest number of fireworks-related injuries.

“Our data shows that we have a new hope this year for less injuries by going for community fireworks displays across the nation,” the statement read.
