

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) - CALABARZON commended the local government unit (LGU) of Carmona, Cavite
DILG - CALABARZON Regional Director Ariel Iglesia named the municipal government of Carmona as among the LGUs ready for the full devolution of functions from national government agencies.
"Tayo ay may mga local government units na may kakayahan at nag-perform. Sila ay nakapagsagawa ng innovative program na nagpapatunay na sila ay handa na sa pagpapatupad ng full devolution," Iglesia said on Wednesday, March 8, during DILG sa DZRH Breaktime
"Sila ay technologically inovative, data-driven governance na ang kanilang direction," he added.
The DILG official also mentioned that Carmona LGU received a Seal of Good Governance for six years, and other awards from various organizations
"Meron silang natanggap na awards dahil marami silang innovations. Kasama na diyan yung ating Presidential Award for Child-friendly municipality, yung pagkasama nila sa 10 most competitive municipalities," Iglesia shared.
"Sila ay naging hall-of-famer na rin doon sa Business-friendly local government unit ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry," he added.
Iglesia mentioned the city of Biñan, Laguna as among the LGUs prepared for the full devolution.
"Yung kanilang program na Balik-Biñan Project o yung Tourism Development Through Heritage Conversation ay nabigyan ng award ng Galing Pook Foundation," Iglesia said.
Iglesia assured that the DILG has programs to help LGUs with full devolution in accordance with Executive Order No. 138, which former President Rodrigo Duterte signed in 2021.
