The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) urges the public to embrace digital payments as the new norm.
In an interview during DILG sa DZRH Breaktime on Wednesday, Nov. 15, DTI Asec. Mary Jean Pacheco pointed out that using digital wallets have benefits for both merchants and consumers.
In order to promote the practice of cashless payment, DTI, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and the Department of Agriculture (DA) held the 2023 Cashless Expo from November 17 to November 19 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
During the event, all participating merchants only accepted cashless payments through credit cards, digital wallets, or via digital banks.
The DTI official hopes that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) will help bring the expo to outside Metro Manila and to other regions.
