The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) laments the bombing at the gymnasium of Mindanao City University in Marawi City on December 3.
"Nakikiramay kami doon sa mga namatayan at ganoon din yung mga nasugatan sa pagbobomba, "said Atty. Richard Paat Palpal-latoc, chairperson of CHR, on Wednesday, December 6, during DILG sa DZRH Breaktime.
In response to the bombing, the CHR launched a quick response operation to investigate and identify possible human rights violations.
Palpal-latoc said that the operation also seeks to extend financial assistance to human rights victims of the bombing that resulted in the deaths of at least four people.
"Patuloy namin iimbestigahan upang tukuyin kung sino ang responsable. Ito ay independent investigation na ginagawa ng commission na naka-focus on human rights," Palpal-latoc explained.
"Kung ano yung pwede namin magawa, like referral sa serbisyo ng ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan, ginagawa rin ng ating quick response operation," he added.
