The Department of Interior and Local Government recognized 35 municipalities, 10 cities, and 10 provinces for promoting transparency and accountability in implementing various projects.
Jethro Castro, project manager of the DILG Office of Project Development Service (OPDS) - Unified Project Management Service, said that the agency chose the awardees from a shortlist of 87 LGUs.
Cheryl Agustin-Flores, chief of DILG - OPDS Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division, explained that three key parameters: completeness, timeliness, and accuracy, guide the agency in choosing which LGUs should receive the award.
Agustin-Flores said that DILG depends on the reports submitted by LGUs in the online SubayBAYAN portal in drafting the shortlist of LGUs.
"Ang ating SubayBAYAN ay isang online information system na maaring ma-access kahit sino. It is open to the public," Agustin-Flores said on Wednesday, November 22, during DILG sa DZRH Breaktime
"Layunin nito na malaman ng lahat kung ano ang nangyayari sa proyekto na pinapatupad ng lokal na pamahalaan, particular ang mga infrastructure na nakakapaghatid ng direktang serbisyo para sa taong-bayan," she added.
Agustin-Flores assures that the DILG validates the reports submitted by LGUs on the progress and other related information on locally funded projects.
"May validation tayo na ginagawa where pinupuntahan natin yung mga LGU na nag-qualify sa ating unang sala ng pagkuha ng qualifiers," she said.
Castro said that DILG also gave away special awards for efficient monitoring of local government-supported projects.
"Binigyan din natin ng awards ang ating regional offices na kasama natin sa pag-monitor sa ating projects," Castro explained.
