

The Philippine National Police (PNP) deployed 300 additional personnel to Cotabato City after a shooting incident resulted to the death of two candidates running for barangay councilor.
The shooting incident, which happened on Monday, October 23, also resulted to the death of one supporter, and wounded three others.
PCol. Jean Fajardo, spokesperson of the PNP, said on Wednesday, October 25, that the reinforcements will come from the PNP regional headquarters of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Regional in Muslim Mindanao.
"Talagang election-related violence ito," Fajardo said during DILG sa DZRH Breaktime.
Reports identified the victims as Nur Moqtadin Butucan, a candidate for barangay councilor in Brgy. Rosary Heights12; Alfar Ayunan Pasawilan, a candidate for barangay councilor of Barangay Kalanganan 2; and Faizal Abas, a resident of Brgy. Kalanganan 2.
The shooting happened while the three victims were hanging campaign posters.
Charges have been filed against 12 suspects including a candidate for barangay chairperson, Juhalidin Ladesla Abdul; and a police officer of Maguindanao Del Sur, PMSgt. Pauti Dianal Mamalapat.
