The local government units' (LGUs) programs in improving education and supporting the youth remain as they still believe that the youth is the hope of the country's future.

Among the best examples are the initiatives of the youth leaders from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, and Calumpang General Santos City who shared how their programs have impacted the community.

Interviewed during DZRH sa Breaktime on Wednesday, June 19, Luis Gutierez, Youth Development Officer and Head of CYSDO of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan proudly said they produce 800 professionals yearly due to their scholarship program.

Gutierez said they have 2,850 beneficiaries among the 225,231 youth in their municipality.

These beneficiaries are filtered based on their parents' financial income such as not exceeding 300,000 every year.

"Madami po tayong natutulungan dahil alam naman po natin na ang edukasyon ay isa sa mga adhikain ng aming mayor at amin pong Congresswoman na mabigayn talaga ng magandang edukasyon ang lahat ng kabataang San Joseño," said Gutierez.

Those youth who have solo parents and a members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) are also qualified for the scholarship.

Aside from scholarships, youth who are in sports have free trainings and receives incentives whenever they win in different sports competitions through San Jose's City Youth Sports Development (CYSD) office.

"Ang ginagawa po namin mayroon kaming grass rooting program so binubudgeting po namin yan sa aming tanggapan na itong mga kabataang ito na nagsisimula sa iba't ibang sports po ay binibigyan po namin ng training," said Gutierez.

Due to their CYSD initiatives, Gutierez said their athletes have reached Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association ( CLRAA), Palarong Pambansa, and Batang Pinoy who were also sent internationally.

Meanwhile, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairman Barangay Calumpang, General Santos City shared their program called Annual Barangay Youth Investment (ABYI).

Calumpang said the program is in line with the mandate of SK and efficiently performs in the aspects of health, education, environment, and mobile mobility.

Moreover, a scholarship Assistance is also being given to qualified youth under their Sulong Karunungan Program.

The Barangay has also assistance for those who are suffering from the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) called Pande Pande Program.

"Kasalukuyan mayroon kaming pinamamahalaan na Himso Hub para sa mga kabataan na may kaukulang pangangailangan pangkalusugan na kung saan nirerefer namin sila sa mga ahensya na nararapat sa kanila," said Calumpang.
