Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla clarified on Tuesday that reports claiming an arrest warrant has been issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa remain an “allegation.”
“Alleged pa rin hanggang ngayon” Remulla said, addressing circulating claims linking the senator to an ICC-issued warrant.
During a Palace press briefing, Remulla emphasized that no formal copy of any arrest warrant has been received by key Philippine authorities, including the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Center for Transnational Crimes and the DILG.
The secretary’s statement came after he was asked about previous remarks by his brother, Ombudsman Jesus “Boying” Remulla, who claimed to have seen a digital copy of the alleged warrant.
“There are several people who claim to have seen it but the formal copy has not yet been shown to us. so as far as we are concerned, wala pa talagang warrant of arrest,” the DILG chief said.
As of now, Senator Dela Rosa has remained absent from the Senate.
