MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) congratulated the United States of America on the successful conduct of its presidential elections, culminating on 5 November 2024.
In a statement, DFA Secretary Enrique A. Manalo said that “the elections reaffirm the robustness of American democratic values and institutions.”
“The Philippines reaffirm[s] its commitment to continue working with the United States to advance Philippines-US relations,” Manalo said.
“I look forward to working with our counterparts in bringing our alliance to even greater heights under the administration of president-elect Donald Trump,” Manalo stated.

Earlier, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., extended his message of congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump, calling the recent elections a “triumph” of the American people.
“President Trump has won, and the American people have triumphed. I congratulate them on their victory in an exercise that showed the world the strength of American values,” Marcos said in a statement.
Marcos stated that the Philippine government is looking forward to working with President Trump on a wide range of issues that will “yield mutual benefits for the two nations.”
Trump, 78, will be returning to the White House after securing more than 270 Electoral College votes, the number needed to win the presidency.
With 279 electoral votes as of Thursday (Nov. 9), Trump beat Vice President Kamala Harris who garnered 226 electoral votes.
