After being detained in the House of Representatives, Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) anchors Lorraine Badoy and Jeffrey Celiz protested the travesty in the House proceedings through a hunger strike.

According to Badoy’s statement posted by lawyer Mark Tolentino on Facebook, it said that she will join the hunger strike protest as the travesty in the House proceedings was a direct offshoot of the infiltration of the CPP-NPA-NDF.

As cited by the lawmakers in the House, the SMNI anchors acted disrespectfully and refused to answer relevant questions during an inquiry.

During the hearing, Celiz was asked about the source of the alleged P1.8 billion travel expense of Speaker Martin Romualdez, and Badoy, on the other hand, gave confusion to the House panel on her answers about her role as producer and host.

The anchors may be spending their holidays in detention as lawmakers are still crafting a committee report, which needs to be adopted first during the House plenary session prior.
