DepEd to release salary differentials this month
by Jim Fernandez04 September 2024

₱26.9 billion worth of salary differentials is set for release on September, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced, observing the President’s Executive Order No. 64.

DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara verified the Department of Budget and Management’s (DBM) approval of the release of the funds, which will benefit all eligible public school teachers and non-teaching staff alike.

“As previously stated, both the President and the DBM have confirmed that funds will be released. In fact, they have instructed DepEd to use any available funds to advance the payment of this ₱26.9 billion salary differential for Fiscal Year 2024, covering DepEd's plantilla positions,” he stated during the House Committee’s deliberation on the education department’s proposed Fiscal Year 2025 budget.

Education Undersecretary for Finance Annalyn Sevilla said the salary differential to be distributed covers the January to August period this year, and will be included in September’s payroll.

Sevilla also noted that some DepEd regional offices—namely Ilocos’, Central Luzon’s, and MIMAROPA’s—have obtained the release of their Notice of Official Salary Adjustment (NOSA) and as of August 31, are presently processing the payment of their employee’s salary differentials.

The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and the Davao Region are catching up, already having begun their partial NOSA releases.
