Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday, Oct. 25, revealed the Department of Education’s (DepEd) plan to digitalize learning resources for every learner in the country.

“Digitization of learning resources is at the top of our agenda. We are looking to procure digital textbooks, as well as supplementary learning resources that will be made available to learners and teachers, be it online or offline,” Duterte told reporters at the 49th Philippine Business Conference and Expo.

The Vice President also introduced the MATATAG Portal for learners to have immediate access to their lessons, resources, modules, activity sheets, and assessments using a unique log-in key.

“In embracing technology, we envision an environment of borderless classrooms and learning without disruptions,” she said.

Duterte underscored connectivity as the backbone of technology and bared their steps in providing school-wide Wi-Fi access through partnerships with Starlink, PLDT, Converge, Globe, and other service providers.

“Today's learners grow up in a digital era, and it is critical that we adapt our teaching methodologies to engage and prepare them for the future,” she said.
