The Department of Education (DepEd) has once more reminded all schools to observe its "no collection policy."

The agency, as expressed in its Memorandum 41 signed by Education Secretary Sonny Angara on August 2, forbids schools from selling tickets and calling for contributions of any kind from anyone for any reason.

"The sale of tickets and/or the collection of contributions in any form whatsoever, by any person for any project or purpose, whether voluntary or otherwise, from school children, students and teachers of public and private schools, colleges and universities is hereby prohibited," the memorandum reads.

Following Republic Act 4206, violators of the policy may be fined or incarcerated as decided upon by the court.

The policy does not prohibit Red Cross and Boy and Girl Scouts of the Philippines student membership fees, or support for barrio high schools.
