The Department of Education (DepEd) has ordered all public schools nationwide to shift from face-to-face classes to asynchronous classes/distance learning on Monday, April 8.
In an advisory posted on Sunday, April 7, DepEd said the suspension of the face-to-face classes aims to "allow learners to complete pending assignments, projects and other requirements."
"Likewise, teaching and non-teaching personnel in all public schools shall not be required to report to their stations," it noted.
DepEd said the decision to also adopt distance learning is up to the heads of private schools.
Meanwhile, there will be no classes on April 9 (Araw ng Kagitingan) and April 10 (Eid'l Fitr or Feast of Ramadhan) as these dates are declared holidays by the Malacañang.
