President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has appointed Carlos Primo Constantino David as the new Undersecretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
His appointment papers dated December 28, 2022, and signed by Marcos were released only to the media on Tuesday, February 14.
David last served as DENR Undersecretary for Integrated Environmental Science.
He is a licensed geologist and professor at the College of Science of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman campus.
David is a current member of the Geoscience Foundation Inc. board of directors.
In 1995, David obtained his Master of Science in Geology, from the National Institute of Geological Sciences at UP Diliman.
He finished his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Earth and Environmental Sciences at Stanford University in the United States of America in 2003.
