One of the 17 individuals who sustained gunshot injury during the assassination of late Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo last March 4 has passed away.
The death toll in the brutal incident now climbed to 10.
According to the information posted by Degamo's camp, the 10th victim was identified as Fredilino Cafe Jr. or also known by the name "Putok", personnel at the Provincial Engineering Office in Umanod, Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental.
"Fredilino was in and out of the hospital since March 4, 2023," the post reads, adding that he died due to complications from his gunshot wounds.
"Let us honor his memory and continue to seek justice for all those affected by this tragic event. TEVES NO MORE! TERRORISTA!" the Degamo camp said.
Apart from Degamo and Cafe, eight other victims also passed away due to the brazen shooting.
A total of 10 suspects involved in the killing of the governor are presently in the custody of authorities, which includes the three suspects who were immediately nabbed within the day the shooting happened.
