The number of individuals who perished in the Maco, Davao de Oro landslide is now 37, according to the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) Maco's latest data released Sunday, February 11.
MDRRMO Maco said 37 bodies were successfully recovered from the landslide area as of 12 noon.
Thirty-two individuals sustained injuries, and authorities are still looking for the 63 other landslide victims.
Ednar Dayanghirang, the Regional Director of the Office of the Civil Defense Region 11, told DZRH in an interview that rescuers have yet to rescue survivors following the two children found from the rubble last Friday, February 9.
He said the rescue teams are upgrading their tools and equipments for the search and retrieval operations.
Based on his estimate, the height of the land that fell in Brgy. Masara, Maco, Davao de Oro was tall as two coconut trees.
He said Davao de Oro governor Dorothy Montejo Gonzaga handed a marching order which is to search for all missing individuals.
"Itong number of days, ang order ng gobernador at congressman, hahanapin lahat as long as may numbers of missing, hahanapin. Yun ang goal nila," he said.

The landslide that occurred last February 6 buried two buses of APEX Mines and residential houses.
