The number of individuals who perished during the onslaught of severe tropical storm Paeng has risen to 110, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
In its 6 am situational report, NDRRMC said 79 fatalities have been confirmed, while the remaining 33 were still being verified.
Of the total deaths, 59 came from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), 18 from Western Visayas, and two from Soccsksargen.
Meanwhile, 33 reportedly were missing and 101 were injured due to Paeng.
The agency said the affected individuals soared to 2,418,249 or 741,777 families in 6,158 barangays.
The affected regions include Regions 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Caraga, Bangsamoro, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and National Capital Region (NCR).
A total of 52,742 families or 190,525 individuals were taking shelters in 2,728 evacuation centers, while 276,557 families or 675,456 individuals were staying with their family relatives and friends.
NDRRMC also reported that 6,542 houses were reportedly damaged with 5,035 partially damaged and 1,507 totally damaged.
The estimated cost of damaged houses is pegged at Php 12,415,000.
The agency also estimated an amount of Php 760,361,175 in damage to infrastructure.
