The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Thursday announced that it has released the fund that will support scholars of the Department of Labor and Employment - Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (DOLE-TESDA).
In a press statement, DBM said Secretary Amenah Pangandaman approved the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) worth Php 3.410 billion for the implementation of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) Act.
"Secretary Pangandaman said the timely release of funds is one of the government’s initiatives to empower Filipinos since the Marcos Jr. Administration puts a high premium on the education of Filipinos and human capital development," the DBM said.
It said that students who are enrolled in Technical Vocational Institutions registered under the TESDA will benefit from the SARO and its corresponding Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA).
The said amount will cover the tech-voc students' tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, accident insurance, trainee provision, health/protective equipment, internet allowance, starter tool kits, national assessment fees, and other school fees of beneficiaries for a year.
