The House of Representatives received the proposed 2025 National Expenditure Program on Monday, July 29, from the Department of Budget and Management.
In a turnover ceremony at the Lower House of Congress, DBM Sec. Amenah Pangandaman handed the proposed Php 6.352 trillion budget to House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Romualdez promised that the House of Representatives will study the proposed budget to ensure that the public will benefit from every expenditure.
"We recognize the collective responsibility bestowed upon us legislators to scrutinize, deliberate, and ensure that every peso is allocated and spent," the congressman said during the ceremony.
"Patuloy namin babantayan dito sa Kongreso ang paggastos ng pondong ito. Titiyakin namin na ang bawat piso ay maibalik din sa mga mamayan, sa pamamagitan ng mga programa at proyekto," he further guaranteed.
DBM said that the proposed 2025 national budget is 'equivalent to 22.1 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and higher by 10.1 percent compared to this year’s national budget'.
